Some parts of the KSA website require an additional login. This note explains how to do it.
First-time use: Unfortunately, KSA network security requires that before you can get access to restricted areas, you must physically log in on the KSA network and change your password; and you will need to come into Knowlton Hall to do this.
If you have already logged onto a computer in Knowlton Hall once, you’ve already done all this, and you can skip the rest of this section.
Otherwise, you should use one of the lab computers on the 4th floor of Knowlton Hall: if the IT staff has sent you a user id (login name) and password, your Buck-ID card should get you access to all the labs. Once you’re inside, pick an unused computer, hit Ctrl-Alt-Delete to start the logon procedure. Then:
You’re now logged onto the Knowlton network. Unless you want to explore what we’ve got, you can just log out. After you’ve gone through this, you will be able to access restricted KSA sites from any computer, though you will need to prefix your user name with knowlton\ if you’re logging in from outside Knowlton Hall.
Login name and password: it is important to remember that your KSA login name and password are usually different from your general OSU login name and password. The KSA ones are those you use when you log in to computers in Knowlton Hall labs/studios or offices. When this note refers to your login name and password, it is this login/password that is meant.
The pictures below show two typical dialogs you may encounter when you’re asked to login to a restricted website:

| A | B

There are two situations, depending on where you’re logging in from.
In this case, fill in the dialog as follows:
If you’re on a private computer, you can also check Remember my credentials if it appears. Hit OK. You should be connected to the restricted site.
If this goes wrong, you should try the off-network strategy below.
Either way, you need to log on explicitly to the knowlton domain. Fill in the dialog as follows:
If you’re on a private computer, you can also check Remember my credentials if it appears. Hit OK.
This strategy can also be used if you’re on a KSA network computer.
Hit your browser’s Back button to return to the previous site.
